最新版本的DragonFly BSD 1.6已經發布，這是DragonFly BSD的第四個重要發行版。DragonFly BSD的發行策略就是盡量再發行分支中減少bug的數量，在DragonFly BSD 1.6中，用戶看到的最大的變化是：一個新的隨機數生成器；對大部分802.11無線模塊的支持、然後還有就是對內核中bug的修復。該發行版中另外一個最大的變化就是內置了鎖功能... ....(We also made significant progress in pushing the big giant lock inward and made extensive modifications to the kernel infrastructure with an eye towards DragonFly's main clustering and userland VFS goals. )我們相信，最新版本比1.4版本要穩定。
