Ubuntu 10.10平台體驗Linux版Packet Tracer 5.3

雖然PT5.3全系列的下載地址已經放出（點擊這裡），但是一直沒有驗證使用效果，特別是首次發布的Linux版本，今天就以Ubuntu 10.10作為平台來體驗一下：

我們已經事先下載好了 PacketTracer53_Ubuntu.tar.gz 安裝包；

然後執行命令

sudo tar -xvf PacketTracer53_Ubuntu.tar.gz

這是將該tar包解壓縮到當前文件夾；然後按照以下步驟安裝即可：

33. TRACER SOFTWARE CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE
34. TO ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, THEN CISCO SYSTEMS, INC. ("CISCO") IS
35. UNWILLING TO LICENSE THE SOFTWARE TO YOU AND YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO
36. DOWNLOAD, INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
38. I. DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS. The terms in this Section I ("Distribution
39. Rights") of the Agreement apply solely to any Cisco Networking Academy
40. instructor, administrator or other person or entity approved in writing by
41. Cisco Systems, Inc. (each, an "Instructor") to distribute and use the Cisco
42. Packet Tracer software and related documentation (collectively, the "Software")
43. in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
45. Subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement
46. set forth in Section II below (the "EULA"), Cisco grants Instructor a
47. limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to distribute the
48. Software using the Permitted Distribution Methods (defined below),
49. during the term of the Agreement to Permitted End Users (defined below)
50. solely as reasonably necessary to provide networking training or
51. instruction in accordance with the terms and conditions of the
52. Agreement. The Permitted Distribution Methods are: (i) distribution
53. via a password protected website (WAN distribution), Local Area Network
54. (LAN distribution) or FTP server; or (ii) distribution via CD's or
55. other tangible media containing the Software. Instructor shall not
56. remove the EULA from the Software. Instructor shall use reasonable
57. efforts to ensure Permitted End Users comply with the EULA. Permitted
58. End Users are students, faculty or alumni of Cisco Networking Academy
59. or such other individuals or entities approved in writing by Cisco.
60. Instructors shall not make any copies or duplicates of the Software
61. except as reasonably necessary to exercise the rights granted
62. hereunder. Except to the extent set forth herein, no distribution,
63. marketing or other transfer of the Software is permitted. Without
64. limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Software may not be
65. copied, licensed, sub-licensed, sold or otherwise distributed in
66. exchange for any fee or value-in-kind.
68. Instructor acknowledges and agrees that Cisco retains sole and
69. exclusive title and ownership to the Software, including all copies
70. thereof, all Cisco trademarks, designations, logos and other branding
71. for the Software and all intellectual property rights in or to any of
72. the foregoing.
74. Cisco may terminate the Distribution Rights granted hereunder for any
75. reason or no reason on five (5) business days notice. Unless earlier
76. terminated as set forth in the preceding sentence, the term of this
77. Agreement shall continue until Instructor is no longer a Cisco
78. Networking Academy instructor, administrator or other person or entity
79. approved in writing by Cisco to exercise the rights set forth in this
80. Agreement.
82. II. The following End User License Agreement or "EULA" shall apply to all
83. users of the Software:
85. End User License Agreement
86. BY DOWNLOADING OR INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE YOU ARE BINDING YOURSELF AND/OR THE
87. ENTITY THAT YOU REPRESENT (COLLECTIVELY, "USER") TO THIS END USER LICENSE
88. AGREEMENT ("EULA"). The following terms of this EULA govern access to and use
89. of the Software.
91. License. Conditioned upon compliance with the terms and conditions of this
92. EULA, Cisco Systems, Inc. ("Cisco") grants to User a royalty free, personal,
93. nonexclusive, nontransferable and revocable license to use the Cisco Packet
94. Tracer software and related documentation (collectively, the "Software") solely
95. to create, display or run network simulations using files with suffixes ".pkt"
96. or ".pka" (collectively, "Activities") in connection with Cisco Networking
97. Academy or for such other purpose(s) approved by Cisco in writing. No license
98. is granted for any other purpose and there are no implied licenses in this
99. EULA.
101. General Limitations. This is a license, not a transfer of title, to the
102. Software and Cisco retains ownership of all copies of the Software. User
103. acknowledges and agrees that Cisco and/or its suppliers own all right, title
104. and interest in and to the Software, including without limitation, any and all
105. copyrights, patents, trade secrets, trademarks and other intellectual property
106. rights therein. Cisco has the exclusive right to apply for or register any
107. patents, mask work rights, copyrights, or such other proprietary protections
108. with respect to the Software. User will not earn or acquire any rights or
109. licenses under any copyrights, patents, trade secrets, trademarks or other
110. intellectual property rights on account of this EULA. Except as otherwise
111. expressly provided under this EULA, User shall have no right, and User
112. specifically agrees not to:
114. (i) transfer, assign or sublicense its license rights to any other
115. person or entity, and User acknowledges that any attempted transfer,
116. assignment, sublicense or use shall be void;
118. (ii) make error corrections to or otherwise modify or adapt the
119. Software or create derivative works (excluding Activities) based upon
120. the Software, or permit third parties to do the same;
122. (iii) reverse engineer or decompile, decrypt, disassemble or otherwise
123. reduce the Software to human-readable form, except to the extent
124. otherwise expressly permitted under applicable law notwithstanding this
125. restriction;
127. (iv) use or permit the Software to be used to perform services for
128. third parties, whether on a service bureau or time sharing basis or
129. otherwise, without the express written authorization of Cisco; or
131. (v) disclose, provide, or otherwise make available trade secrets
132. contained within the Software in any form to any third party without
133. the prior written consent of Cisco. User shall implement reasonable
134. security measures to protect such trade secrets.
136. To the extent required by law, and at User's written request, Cisco shall
137. provide User with the interface information needed to achieve interoperability
138. between the Software and another independently created program, on payment of
139. Cisco's applicable fee, if any. User shall observe strict obligations of
140. confidentiality with respect to such interface information and shall use such
141. interface information in compliance with any reasonable terms and conditions
142. upon which Cisco makes such interface information available.
144. Software, Upgrades and Additional Copies. For purposes of this EULA, "Software"
145. shall include (and the terms and conditions of this EULA shall apply to)
146. computer programs, as provided to User by Cisco or an authorized agent and any
147. upgrades, updates, bug fixes or modified versions thereto (collectively,
148. "Upgrades") or backup copies of the Software permitted hereunder.
149. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THIS EULA: (1) USER HAS NO LICENSE OR
150. RIGHT TO USE ANY UPGRADES OR ADDITIIONAL COPIES UNLESS USER, AT THE TIME OF
151. ACQUIRING SUCH COPY OR UPGRADE, ALREADY HOLDS A VALID LICENSE TO THE ORIGINAL
152. SOFTWARE; AND (2) THE MAKING AND USE OF ADDITIONAL COPIES IS LIMITED TO
153. NECESSARY BACKUP PURPOSES ONLY.
155. Proprietary Notices. User agrees to maintain and reproduce all copyright and
156. other proprietary notices on all copies, in any form, of the Software in the
157. same form and manner that such copyright and other proprietary notices are
158. included on the Software. Except as expressly authorized in this EULA, User
159. shall not make any copies or duplicates of any Software without the prior
160. written permission of Cisco.
162. Term and Termination. Provided User complies with the terms and conditions
163. of this EULA, the license granted herein shall remain in effect for so long
164. as User remains a Permitted End User, as determined by Cisco in its sole
165. discretion. User may terminate this EULA and the license at any time by
166. destroying all copies of the Software. User's rights under this EULA will
167. terminate immediately without notice from Cisco if User fails to comply with
168. any provision of this EULA. Upon termination, User shall destroy all copies of
169. Software in its possession or control. All confidentiality obligations of User
170. and all limitations of liability and disclaimers and restrictions of warranty
171. shall survive termination of this EULA. In addition, the provisions of the
172. sections titled "U.S. Government End User Purchasers" and "General Terms
173. Applicable to the Limited Warranty Statement and Software License" shall
174. survive termination of this EULA.
176. Export. The Software, including technical data, may be subject to U.S. export
177. control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Act and its associated
178. regulations, and may be subject to export or import regulations in other
179. countries. User agrees to comply strictly with all such regulations and
180. acknowledges that it has the responsibility to obtain licenses to export,
181. re-export, or import the Software.
183. U.S. Government End User Purchasers. The Software qualifies as "commercial
184. items," as that term is defined at Federal Acquisition Regulation ("FAR")
185. (48 C.F.R.) 2.101, consisting of "commercial computer software" and "commercial
186. computer software documentation" as such terms are used in FAR 12.212.
187. Consistent with FAR 12.212 and DoD FAR Supp. 227.7202-1 through 227.7202-4, and
188. notwithstanding any other FAR or other contractual clause to the contrary in
189. any agreement into which this EULA may be incorporated, User may provide to
190. Government end user or, if this agreement is direct, Government end user will
191. acquire, the Software with only those rights set forth in this EULA. Use of
192. the Software constitutes agreement by the Government that the Software and
193. related documentation are "commercial computer software" and "commercial
194. computer software documentation," and constitutes acceptance of the rights and
195. restrictions herein.
197. No Warranty
198. THE SOFTWARE FURNISHED UNDER THIS EULA IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT
199. ANY WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR
200. STATUTORY; INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF QUALITY, PERFORMANCE,
201. NONINFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NOR ARE
202. THERE ANY WARRANTIES CREATED BY A COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE OR
203. TRADE USAGE. CISCO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET USER'S NEEDS OR
204. WILL BE FREE FROM ERRORS, OR THAT THE OPERATION OF THE SOFTWARE WILL BE
205. UNINTERRUPTED. THE FOREGOING EXCLUSIONS AND DISCLAIMERS ARE AN ESSENTIAL PART
206. OF THIS EULA AND FORMED THE BASIS FOR DETERMINING THE FEES CHARGED FOR THE
207. SOFTWARE.
209. Disclaimer of Liabilities. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANY REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN
210. FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OR OTHERWISE, IN NO EVENT WILL CISCO OR ITS
211. SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST REVENUE, PROFIT, OR LOST OR DAMAGED DATA,
212. NETWORK FAILURE, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF CAPITAL, OR FOR SPECIAL,
213. INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES HOWEVER CAUSED AND
214. REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY OR WHETHER ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR
215. INABILITY TO USE SOFTWARE OR OTHERWISE AND EVEN IF CISCO OR ITS SUPPLIERS OR
216. LICENSORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. In no event
217. shall Cisco's or its suppliers' or licensors' liability to User, whether in
218. contract, tort (including negligence), breach of warranty, or otherwise, exceed
219. the price paid by User for the Software that gave rise to the claim or if the
220. Software is part of another Product, the price paid for such other Product.
221. BECAUSE SOME STATES OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF
222. CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
224. User agrees that the limitations of liability and disclaimers set forth herein
225. will apply regardless of whether User has accepted the Software or any other
226. product or service delivered by Cisco. User acknowledges and agrees that Cisco
227. has granted the licenses and entered into this relationship in reliance upon
228. the disclaimers of warranty and the limitations of liability set forth herein,
229. that the same reflect an allocation of risk between the parties (including the
230. risk that a contract remedy may fail of its essential purpose and cause
231. consequential loss), and that the same form an essential basis of the bargain
232. between the parties.
234. General. The EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the
235. laws of the State of California, without reference to or application of
236. choice of law rules or principles. The United Nations Convention on the
237. International Sale of Goods shall not apply. If any portion hereof is found to
238. be void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of the EULA shall remain in
239. full force and effect. Except as expressly provided herein, this EULA
240. constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the
241. license of the Software and supersedes any conflicting or additional terms
242. contained in any purchase order or elsewhere, all of which terms are excluded.
243. This EULA has been written in the English language, and the parties agree that
244. the English version will govern. User waives any rights User may have under
245. the law of User's country or province to have this EULA written in any language
246. other than English.
248. Cisco, Cisco Systems, and the Cisco Systems logo are registered trademarks of
249. Cisco Systems, Inc. in the U.S. and certain other countries. Any other
250. trademarks mentioned in this document are the property of their respective
251. owners.
