本人還對Ubuntu不是很會搞。實際上加起來用了半個月不到。第一次是朋友介紹後學了安裝的，安好硬件驅動後開起了特效，但重啟進入PC時也就是這個郁悶的顯示器分辨率和刷新率問題過低800＊600＿60HZ，當時玩的是8.04版，讓我不在玩Ubuntu了。第二次我反復試驗，通過百度和論壇，懂點後，也沒成功。哎～第三次，我終於成功了，Beautiful~ 我是通過摸索和反復試驗自己親手解決了Ubuntu8.10顯示器分辨率和刷新率問題，I Believe ~很多網友初學Ubuntu也會遇到我同一樣的情況，現在我就在解決方法寫出來，對需要解決的朋友有所幫助。呵呵。（已測試並正常使用）
A。先在系統－系統管理－硬件驅動裡選擇安裝驅動，（本人顯示器是LG－17CRT，分辨率1152＊768＿75HZ，顯卡是NVIDIA 7300GT－偶選擇的是173版本）。顯卡SIS的朋友沒法開。一般默認推薦安裝也可以（裝好Ubuntu系統更新＋裝漢語包後，點桌面右鍵－更改桌面背景－視覺效果－正常，系統就會自動推薦驅動，叫你下載安裝。） 安好驅動後開起（更改桌面背景－視覺效果－正常）就算開起了特效，重啟成就出現顯示器分辨率和刷新率問題過低。
為了方便大家能盡快解決分辨率問題，早日享受3D的震撼效果，我將自己實踐經驗與大家一起分享。
B。在終端裡輸入以下命令對文件進行編輯：
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
C。輸入超級管理員的密碼。（如果之前是使用超級管理員賬號登入的話，則自動跳過。）
打開後你想要的修改Xorg.conf文件資料。
D。（沒安驅動開不起特效，但可以解決你修改Xorg.conf文件錯誤後還原） /etc/X11/xorg.conf裡Ubuntu 8.10原裝系統正確文件資料如下：

（備注：保存後退出重啟，這時已經修改）
E。安好驅動後，解決顯示器分辨率和刷新率問題過低，打開系統－系統管理－Nvidia X Server settings(ATI沒用過），打開X Server Display Configuration後看右邊的Display(就是顯示器相關設置），分辨率Resolution很低:隨便選如： 640＊320或800＊600， 刷新率Configuration：60HZ 然後點下面Save to X Configuration File 打開 Show Preview...
把裡面的從# xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)包括一項開始把全部復制粘貼到xorg.conf文件，（同時打開原來的xorg.conf文件清空）。找到下面的這一項Option "metamodes" "800x600_60 +0+0"把它改成Option "metamodes" "1152x864_75 +0+0"（根據自己的顯示器分辨率和刷新率來改）保存後退出重啟，看看成功沒有。如果不行找到這兩項改下為
HorizSync 28.0 - 85.0
VertRefresh 43.0 - 76.0
哈哈～你就會發現顯示器分辨率和刷新率回到正常了，並開起了特效，重新打開那個顯卡設置， 系統－系統管理－Nvidia X Server settings看分辨率可以設更高到1920＊1080或1920＊1200。刷新率也可以設成AUTO或60到85了。
