內核我是自己編譯的，已把所有Ubuntu自帶的刪除了，系統就不會再提示更新內核了。
注意：這個還不是官方發行的測試版。2008.6.13
首先添加源，（修改這一部分tw.archive.ubuntu.com為你最快的那個源的服務器）

然後在終端中，輸入
echo “debconf hold” |sudo dpkg –set-selections
echo “memtest86+ hold” |sudo dpkg –set-selections
echo “wine hold” |sudo dpkg –set-selections
前兩個 如不hold會出錯、升不了，後一個是源裡的版本比較舊它還照“升”，其他可能還有，可以根據自己的狀況設定
然後執行
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
500多個文件好像。
最後出現
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.25.420sanguo0
Cannot find /lib/modules/2.6.25.420sanguo0
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.25.420sanguo0
dpkg: 子進程 post-installation script 返回了錯誤號 1
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
不太清楚怎麼回事，總之提示重啟了。照做就生成功了，變成ubuntu8.10了。
進入後發現，那個totem媒體播放器沒了，不過有mplayer就無所謂了。
更新管理器裡有幾項成灰色，除了前面hold那幾項還有apt,apt-utils,aptitude
gnome-system-monitor 查看文件系統會退出。出這個錯 glibmm-WARNING **: failed to wrap type of ‘GUnixMount’
其他暫時沒什麼，常用的功能都沒問題，以後再慢慢測試。有什麼變化也看不出來。總之，現在升了純屬沒事找事。

新立德裡強制把gnome-system-monitor恢復成2.22.1，文件系統顯示正常
上面那個update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.25.420sanguo0 錯誤原因找到：
/var/lib/initramfs-tools/下面有個之前的內核文件名，刪了，執行sudo dpkg –configure -a 就ok了。 (出自：20sanguo)
